Your Private Beekeeping Experience

Welcome to your own personal introduction to the world of beekeeping.

This private afternoon session is designed for those who want a more relaxed, personal experience — whether you’re completely new, feeling a little nervous, or simply want the space to ask questions and learn at your own pace.

We begin with a gentle introduction to honey bees and their fascinating world. You’ll learn about the structure of the colony, the role of the queen, workers and drones, and how a hive functions as one incredibly organised society.

Once you feel comfortable, we’ll suit up and head to the apiary.

Together, we’ll open a live hive and explore it step by step. There’s no rush — this is your time to observe, ask questions, and build confidence around the bees. You’ll see brood, pollen stores, and honey being made, and gain a real understanding of what it’s like to manage a hive.

Throughout the session, everything is adapted to you — whether that means taking things slowly, spending more time at the hive, or diving deeper into the practical side of beekeeping.

There will also be time to relax with a tea or coffee and taste our locally produced honey.

By the end of the experience, you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of honey bees, a sense of confidence around them, and a memorable connection to the natural world.
