The experience

A fun and gentle 1-hour session at our apiary in Detling, in the Kent countryside, for children aged 6 to 12. In a small group of no more than 4 children, they’ll learn what honeybees do and how they make honey, then safely watch real bees at work through our observation hive and look out for the queen. Children don’t handle live bees. Afterwards there’s a taste of our fresh raw honey, and each child makes their own rolled beeswax candle to take home. A parent or guardian must stay on site.
