Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp Honey Try our Wildflower Honey, it's perfect for this
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce or Tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar or Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 tsp Toasted Sesame Oil
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Ginger optional
  • 1/4 tsp Cracked Black Pepper

Method

  1. Whisk: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Marinade (Optional): If using as a marinade, pour half the mixture over your raw protein and let it sit for at least 30 minutes in the fridge. Reserve the other half for glazing.
  3. Simmer: Pour the mixture into a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a gentle simmer for 3–5 minutes until the sauce reduces slightly and becomes thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  4. Glaze: Brush the thickened sauce onto your protein during the final 3–5 minutes of baking, grilling, or pan-searing.
  5. Serve: Drizzle any remaining warm sauce over the finished dish. Garnish with spring onions or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

Optional: Add a sprinkle sesame seeds
Rule: Because of the high sugar content in honey, don't apply this at the start of high-heat grilling or it will char. Save it for the final stage of cooking.
